At the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC), we have strengthened our data processing and analysis capabilities to meet the objectives of the Canary Islands Statistical Plan (PEC) through the Annual Statistical Programs. To achieve this, we have structured and systematized our data processing, identifying where it is necessary or advisable to introduce standardized and automated processes in specific phases, subprocesses, or tasks.

Implementing standards-based strategies allows us to compare our production methods with other statistical operations, both within ISTAC and with other producers in the National Statistical System and the European Statistical System, always with the goal of improving efficiency.

The Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM) provides a standard framework and a harmonized terminology, helping us to modernize our production processes and to share methods and components. This model has been essential in guiding our technical assistance in statistical production at ISTAC.
